Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose specific pages?

You can enter page numbers and ranges such as 1,3,5 or 2-4 depending on the pages you want to keep.

Can I save every page as a separate PDF?

Yes. Use the split-each-page option when you want one output file per page.

Can I extract multiple ranges at once?

Yes. A single run can include more than one page number or range, which is useful for pulling chapters or sections out of a longer document.

Will the original PDF be changed?

No. QuietPDF creates new split files and does not modify the source document.

When is split PDF useful?

Split PDF is useful when you only need selected pages from contracts, proposals, lecture notes, scans, or long reports instead of sending the full document.

When to use this tool

Create smaller PDFs from selected page ranges or export pages separately. Splitting removes unrelated pages without reducing the visual quality of the pages you keep.

  • You need one section, appendix, or signature page from a longer document.
  • A large packet should be divided into separate files for different recipients.
  • Removing unnecessary pages is more appropriate than compressing the whole PDF.

Tips for best results

  • Check page numbers in the viewer because printed page labels can differ from PDF page positions.
  • Use clear output names when several extracted ranges will be shared separately.
  • Compare the extracted result with the source before sending sensitive or signed material.

Privacy and file retention

QuietPDF temporarily reads the uploaded PDF to create the requested page outputs. The source and split results are scheduled for deletion within about 30 minutes, and downloaded outputs may be removed from temporary storage earlier.
